British actor Idris Elba is not just one of our most successful Hollywood stars.

He has also made a name for himself as a respected DJ who has performed in Ibiza super clubs and major festivals around the world.

However, the Londoner has revealed that Meghan insisted on taking control when asked to provide musical entertainment at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception in Windsor.

The American ex-actress, 40, told Elba, 49, which songs to play on his set.

“Meghan had sent me a playlist so I already knew what she wanted,” he explains.

The Luther star, who DJed for the Queen of Pop Madonna and even worked on a track with Sir Paul McCartney, notes that these were all “high pressure gigs”.

When asked what he found to be “the most stressful”, however, he replied: “The wedding, undoubtedly. It wasn’t like my cousin’s wedding. ‘ The evening celebration took place at Frogmore House, the listed former home of Queen Victoria’s mother.

“It wasn’t in the community hall – at reception,” says Elba, who made a name for himself in the acclaimed US crime drama The Wire. “That was a big, big deal.”

He adds of the Sussexes, “They are good friends and I wanted to make sure they were having a great time so the pressure was on.”

The nightly reception had already proven controversial. While show business pals like George Clooney and James Corden were invited, some of Harry’s oldest friends wondered why they hadn’t made the guest list.

Those who didn’t get invitations included Tom Inskip – known by his friends as “Skippy” – with whom Harry had been best friends for years.

Skippy reportedly served as a protective figure during the prince’s teenage years and was even by his side during Harry’s infamous Las Vegas vacation in 2012.

The smart set talks about … Delevingne calls the midwife

With the social models Cara and Poppy Delevingne as sisters, she could easily have embarked on a similarly glamorous career. But cerebral Chloe Delevingne shuns the limelight to become a midwife instead.

Chloe, the 36-year-old daughter of property developer Charles and his wife Pandora, tells me that she is studying midwife at University College London Hospitals.

“It’s a lot more crowded than I thought, but I love it,” she says at a Mayfair party. “In January I will be in the hospital all day. My sisters are creative; Science has always been my thing. ‘

Chloe – who has two children with husband Edward Grant, Atticus, 7 and Juno, 6, adds, “I started years ago but then I got pregnant. Now they’re both in full time in school so I went back.

‘There’s a lot of pressure – it’s like,’ I don’t have to shit ‘. “

Tax issues for Windsor MP

He is the Tory MP with a £ 4.5m mansion who was once discussed as the successor to David Cameron so this will come as a surprise.

Heard Adam Afriyie is on trial for unpaid taxes on HMRC’s bankruptcy filing. Everything is revealed in newly filed court documents.

It’s not the first time Afriyie, 56, who has been a MP for Windsor since 2005, has been faced with such a petition. He faced similar legal action two years ago when it was discovered he was renting out his Grade II listed mansion in Old Windsor for £ 1,950 a night through Airbnb. It was an embarrassing blow to the former shadow minister, who lives in the village with his second wife, Tracy-Jane (below), a lawyer and ex-wife of Secretary of State Kit Malthouse.

Previously, the marketing agency Axonn Media, which helped Afriyie to a value of up to 100 million pounds, was separately plunged into bankruptcy.

Afriyie tells me, ‘I will of course pay any taxes due.’ His spokesman explains that the petition can be legally challenged.

Singles mingle when the Spencer twins join the Tatler set

Princess Diana’s twin nieces, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer, have only been living in London for a few months, but are already the most popular party guests there.

And Earl Spencer’s 29-year-old daughters tell me they are struggling to cope with the social turmoil. “We’re still getting used to the fast-paced life in London,” admits Lady Eliza. “It’s fun, but it’s only just beginning for us.”

The sisters dressed by Michael Kors for Tatler’s Little Black Book Party at Tramp nightclub in St. James previously lived in South Africa. After joining the caviar and oyster round, there are even more workers’ dishes to try. “We haven’t had a chance to try fish and chips, but we will,” Lady Eliza insists.

Other guests celebrating the return of the Tatler party for the society’s most coveted singles after a four-year absence were the daughter of Sotheby’s boss Lord Dalmeny, Celeste Primrose, 18, and the son of Wimbledon champion Boris Becker, Elias, 22.

Elias is studying film in New York and tells me that he wants to be a film actor. “I would like to be a superhero,” he says.

Long-suffering strict star Anton Du Beke was often worked with celebrities who had no chance of winning, and reached the finals only twice in 18 years. Now he is a judge and is happy to declare: “I’m guaranteed to be in the final. I can’t tell you how excited I am. ‘

The 55-year-old dancer took over from Bruno Tonioli, who had said that he was “gutted” for not being on the jury. But Bruno didn’t get in touch with tips, as Anton says: “I didn’t speak to Bruno, no. He’s busy doing the US show that has already started. ‘ Let’s hope that excited Bruno doesn’t think Anton stepped on his toes.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have 13 million Instagram followers, are looking to cement their online popularity. They are promoting a digital communications officer on the royal website who will “assist” [their] official social media channels ”.

Her team includes David Watkins, who helped Prince Harry and Meghan build the Sussex Royal Instagram account. The Queen banned the Sussexes from using “Sussex Royal” once they had given up their royal duties.

(Very) modern manners

Her extended family runs some of our finest mansions such as Broadlands in Hampshire, where the Queen and Prince Philip honeymooned. But Daisy Knatchbull, 29, dares to venture into uncharted waters. I heard that the Savile Row seamstress lives on a houseboat on a London canal.

“She loves life on the water,” one of her friends tells me. The great-granddaughter of 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma (above) enjoys defying convention – she once arrived at Royal Ascot in a morning suit and top hat.

Mary Berry is serving a dog meal

Who would have thought that Mary Berry of all people would serve food that was previously between her dog’s drooling jaws?

The former bake-off star has made a shocking admission. “When the family came by, I roasted a turkey crown and laid it out with all the trimmings,” she says.

“The doorbell rang and as soon as I turned my back to open the front door, Wellington, our black retriever, jumped up and pulled the turkey from the plate to the floor.

“After a dramatic scream from me, I quietly picked it up, cut off the edges, covered them with parsley and put everything back on the table. Who would know As you can see, we love our dogs. ‘

Mary does not reveal whether she has informed her guests.
