BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – As the state prepares to reopen more stores this week, good news is expected for many very patient brides and grooms later this month.

Massachusetts will enter Step 3, Phase 2 of the reopening plan on Monday, March 1st. If the COVID-19 numbers continue to slide, Phase 4 of the state’s reopening plan will begin on Jan.

According to former Jam’n 94.5FM radio personality Baltazar Ibanez, 2020 wasn’t a great year to be a wedding DJ.

“It’s been a year of moving, moving, moving,” he said. “No money comes in. And we suffered from it.”

When the state enters Phase 4 of the COVID-19 reopening plan, dance floors will be allowed for indoor weddings of up to 100 guests and outdoor weddings of up to 150 guests.

Ibanez, who now heads Baltazar Entertainment, said he doesn’t yet know if there will be restrictions like masks and social distancing on those dance floors.

But at the end of the day, some dancing is better than none at all.

“Put on your dancing shoes,” said Ibanez. “We are ready to go.”
