Berklee Abu Dhabi was opened on Saadiyat Island in collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi and the Berklee Music College in Boston, USA.

The Berklee campus in Abu Dhabi really smashed the “shuffle” button in its brochure with a refreshingly eclectic selection of short courses.

You can study Middle Eastern Fusion Ensemble (10 hours for 2,320 Dhs), Jazz Contemporary (dance, eight hours for 1,460 Dhs), string orchestra (10 hours for 2,230 Dhs), music production (six hours for 2,200 Dhs). and DJ skills (10 hours for 3,500 Dhs).

The music school opened its doors on March 1st with a special east-west inauguration concert (with real rock legend Stevie Vai).

DCT – Abu Dhabi celebrated the opening of @berkleeabudhabi held at the UAE Pavilion in the Saadiyat Cultural District with a high profile public concert titled Mishwar. It was designed by the institute’s teachers and guests as a unique east-west music journey.

The lecturers at the institute are incredibly powerful in the industry. Stephen Webber – who runs the DJ skills unit (which, by the way, would be an epic DJ name in itself) and the music production classes – is an Emmy-winning composer, producer, engineer, and professor.
