If you want to learn electronics, you might as well learn to have some fun. And if you want to learn to DJ, you can also learn something practical. Because let’s face it – you’re probably not the one-in-a-million performer who becomes Deadmau5 or Marshmello or someone else in a giant oversized helmet.

Even if you are destined to be fame and fortune as an EDM god, there is tons of cool knowledge and clever skills to develop with this Jay-D: Build and Code Your Own DJ Mixtable kit.

This project, created by Circuitmess, contains all the components and training that every would-be tinkerer needs to build and program their own functioning DJ mix station. With Jay-D, creatives can make and mix music like a real DJ, manipulate tracks, create different sounds and sound effects and set the beat and tempo as the focus of the show.

This mix table is designed with the same basic functions of a table you would buy in a store including two simultaneous playback slots, BPM controls, sound equalizers and effects, a class D amplifier, two 5W -Speakers and an on-board display to regulate everything.

In addition to all of the knobs, knobs, faders, housings, and other parts, the kit also includes easy-to-understand but thorough building instructions that walk developers through the entire process. On the hardware side, the builders will learn how to solder, assemble digital sound components, and more.

As for software, the Jay-D plugs into a laptop or desktop computer to allow users to code the Jay-D into CircuitBlocks. It’s our bespoke beginner-friendly code editor, similar to Scratch. It helps builders understand what sound waves are and how they are computer generated, how digital audio systems handle complex tasks like compression, and how to program custom sound effects into the Jay-D.

In addition, the whole thing is on board with 144 individually controllable LEDs to create an individual light show for all of your DJ sessions.

Right now, you can get the complete kit to build your own Jay-D DJ mixtable for just $ 119.95. You can also switch to a collection that also includes a soldering iron and all of the other tools needed to build the Jay-D for just $ 144.95.
